Vacancy Summary

We are urgently looking for a Management Accountant who is CIMA qualified with a manufacturing background to analyse and report on key financial data for a company in the aerospace/avionics industry.

It is essential that all candidates are fully qualified and hold a professional accountant qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), have substantial experience of working in an accounts department and are able to understand and explain complex accounting issues at all levels including to non-finance professionals

Prior knowledge of business planning activity and the production of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets is required as is experience of dealing with external and internal auditors and preparing any required analyses.

The Management Accountant must have good knowledge of MS products, particularly Excel and the ability to understand and create more complicated spreadsheets (use of formula and macros).

The type of company (i.e. Manufacturing and engineering development) gives rise to a reasonable level of complexity within the role and the job holder will need the ability and experience to take non-financial information and convert it into a financial analysis to allow correct assessment of the current status of the business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, day to day duties will include:

* Producing monthly management information reports
* Assisting with preparation and review of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
* Investigating variances to budget and forecasts and providing analysis of differences
* Carrying out regular gross margin reviews - investigating major variances
* Producing and maintaining weekly sales report and reserve schedules
* Producing monthly reconciliations of Workshare accounts
* Producing a monthly detail report of all overhead allocations
* Calculating and maintaining warranty provision
* Liaising with internal and external auditors
* Preparing and posting various Magnitude schedules
* Preparing general ad hoc analyses

It is essential that all candidates have the confidence to liaise with all levels within the business and understand the importance of meeting deadlines and producing accurate results. You should have experience of working within a team environment and preparing and explaining financial information for financial and non financial managers
